Those of you who know me, or at least follow my posts regularly, will know that I have 3 small children at home.  When my first daughter was born, 5 years ago, I decided to make a special book to celebrate her birth.  I created a deluxe binding of a favourite children’s classic and wrote a dedication to her inside the front cover.   I decided that I would make another deluxe binding for each of her birthdays, in the hope that she would appreciate the time and love that had gone into the binding as much as the contents of the great story inside its covers.

Fast forward five years, and I now have 3 small children and had, until now gotten a little behind in creating these deluxe bound books to celebrate each year of my children’s lives.  But last week, I set aside a period of time to make sure that I was up to date.  As a result, I now have a book for each child’s birthday complete with a dedication and a little about what they are like and what things they are doing at that particular age.  I even managed to get a bit ahead of myself and have a book all ready for my sons 2nd birthday which is not until next month!

Today I thought I would share some images of these collections.  A deluxe binding is something I also do as a Christening/ Naming Day gift for children of close friends and family.  It makes a really special and personal gift for the important people in your life.  I often blind emboss the initials of the recipient on the spine or on the bottom right hand corner.
